Today I am excited to share a very special post with you. It was written by my dear friend, Caitlin, or as found on Instagram and LIKEtoKNOW.it, The Kindred Ginger!
I have no doubt that you will adore her and her style.
Budgets, busy schedules, and {cough…COVID} make it difficult to shop. Enter the capsule wardrobe. Classic colors, timeless prints, flattering fits, and versatile pieces are important factors that play into a capsule wardrobe.
The “Not So Basic Basics” capsule came to life from shopping my closet and adding a few new things to make up 25 pieces with countless possibilities for this summer. The goal in sharing is to inspire other women to create outfits with what they have and maybe add a few missing things.
Black, white, olive green, earth tones, denim, with pops of camo and leopard make up the “Not So Basic Basics” capsule. With a foundation of classic colors and prints the capsule allows for taking a casual daytime outfit fit for errands or working from home, to adding statement jewelry, hair accessories, or switching shoes to make for a fun night out outfit!
The capsule includes pieces from affordable retailers with all sizes such as Old Navy, Target, Abercrombie & Fitch, DSW, and Loft. All of which have sales on a regular basis making it budget friendly to add missing pieces to our wardrobes. Capsule pictures and ideas of outfits will be shared throughout the next few weeks on IG and LIKEtoKNOW.it to help spark creativity!
Let’s look in our closets and see what we have to create outfits that make us feel our best selves, no matter the occasion!
Thank you Caitlin for sharing this with our Wildfire Breaking Free Fam.

Great post! As a minimalist this is very helpful and as someone that hates summer clothing, this gives me hope for my summer wardrobe.
P.S. those white pointed toe mules are to die for!
I am so happy you found this post helpful. Her style and tips are always spot on! It was an honor to have her share them with us. Thanks for your feedback
