You don’t have to be rich to create a home you love. In fact, I will never forget my first place. It was a low income apartment and every piece of furniture was given to me as a hand me down. But you know what, it was mine and I loved it!
I think it’s easier, now more than ever, to see homes online and feel like yours just doesn’t measure up!
Forget that crap! That kind of thinking robs you of your joy and makes you blind to the blessing of right here and right now. I know because I have caught myself in the same place before and had to snap out of it quick…but I digress.
As a military spouse, I have had to create MANY new spaces and each time I get excited trying to figure out how I can come up with something new ON A BUDGET.
That is why I love sharing my DIY projects with you and also why I created a FREE Gift just for you! If you haven’t signed up for “My Top 5 Tips to Repurposing what you have and styling the home you’ll love” then what are you waiting for?
You should’ve seen the pop up when you logged onto the blog, if you missed it, go back and be sure to sign up to get the gift sent straight to your email.
I am a firm believer that you do not have to be rich to have a rich life but you can be rich and have a very poor life! Like I mentioned above, the comparison trap steals you of your joy and so does the big chase after the next best thing. We have to be careful and really check ourselves friend.
Everyone has a different style and a different situation and ALL of them will change many times. You can be on the mountain top one year and in the valley the next.
You can love the farmhouse look one year and want something completely different the next!
Guess what? THAT’S OK!
So let’s forget keeping up with the Joneses or the latest and greatest. You do you boo and do it unapologetically!
Ok, I am done preaching! LOL
Let’s get to the fun stuff!
Repurposing what you have, or creating new things on a budget, is my thang!
In this blog I want to share my most popular DIY post with you, just in case you missed any.
This is meant to inspire you and maybe give you a fun project to do.
Speaking of…if you do use any of these tips and DIY’s, please share them with me! I would love to see your creations and share you in my Instagram stories too!
DIY #1 has to be this Dip-dyed stool!
I am always getting questions and comments about my DIY Dip-Dyed Stool nad I have loved seeing how many people have recreated it and gave me positive feedback about how easy the instructions were to follow. So if you like the look of the Serena and Lily stool (which was my inspiration) but not the price tag…this one is for you!
DIY #2 That cute Plant Hanger DIY was super cheap but for my plant lovers, it’s a must! There is even a short video for my visual friends (like me) and it is super quick to make!
DIY #3 My Bleached Wood Table project made such a huge difference! So if you have an old piece of furniture, you love the bleached wood look, and you want something different in your space, try this before you buy something new! You will be surprised at how much this process completely transforms any piece of furniture!
DIY #4 My easy to make Jewelry holder is another popular DIY that is super quick to make but truly gives you a fun way to organize and hang your jewelry, hats, ties or anything else you can think of!
Simple and sweet…I hope these projects will inspire you to try something new and to embrace what you have and who you are, right down to your own personal style.
Don’t forget! If you use any of these I would love to see it and feature you on my IG, so be sure to follow me there and send me a DM with your new DIY piece!
Until next time friend, remember, you are already amazing and the life you are living is a true blessing.
With Love,
Lisa Faye
