Do you need an easy desert idea for this 4th of July! Then this is for you friend!
This is one of the easiest deserts you can make, next to popping some pre-made cookies on to a baking sheet!
This desert is always a crowd pleaser! I make it every 4th of July or any other time of year when I have a crowd or need to bring a desert to a gathering.
We are at the lake right now and since I didn’t have my glass dish I am sharing an old photo so forgive the quality of it. I wanted you to have a visual to go along with the step by step.
Sarah Lee Pound Cake (vanilla, not lemon)
Large tub of whip cream
Blueberries
Strawberries
Wash and dry your berries. Slice your strawberries but leave one or more whole for the top decoration.
Cut the pound cake into cubes. I like to slice mine long ways first, creating 3 or 4 long slices. Then I make smaller cuts along the width of the cake in order to create the cubes.
Put a layer of cake on the bottom of your dish. I love a glass dish like the one in the photo because it really shows off the desert.
Add a light layer of berries (strawberries and blueberries)
Add a layer of whipped cream
Repeat until you reach the top of your dish.
The top layer should be whipped cream. I like to add some extra berries on the top for a little decoration. You can make any design you desire. Have fun with it or just top it with a big strawberry and call it a day.
That’s it! In a matter of minutes you have a delicious desert to serve your family and friends. Be ready, they will ask for the recipe and if you made the cake! LOL
If they ask, please send them here or save this on your Pinterest for easy access in the future.
I hope you enjoy this as much as we do.
With Love,
Lisa Faye
