I seen this little DIY project scrolling Instagram one day and thought, ”I can totally do that!” I wish I could remember who posted it to give her credit for her sheer genius but I haven’t been able to relocate her post to save my life. If I find it, I will add it later.
Many of my necklaces were hanging from pushpins in my closet. Not the cutest situation but it worked.
My husbands ties and hats were also in need of a new hanging situation since they continually fell off of the accordion hanger I had them on.
So, I decided to make a few of these and see how they would work.
They work perfectly for the small space we have and I think it makes it look much better! I love it!
I do plan to paint the wood later but I’m not mad about the natural wood for now.
If you’d like to make one of these yourself. Here’s what you will need.
• 1×2 board (length will depend on your space and how many you want to make.
• 1/2 x 48 poplar dowel (same as above)
•1-1/4 inch cup hooks
•Mounting tape
•Sand sponge or electric sander
Cut your wood and dowls. I made mine 20 inches long but measure the space you want to hang yours in and decide the length from there.
Sand your wood until it’s smooth. You can use an electric sander but I just used a sanding sponge for this project.
Mark the holes for your hooks. I placed mine 1 inch away from the edge.
Make a starter hole with a small nail, then screw in your hooks.
Place your tape on the side that will be against the wall.
Use a level to help you hang your new organizer. Hang the items you want to display and enjoy!
Here is a little video for a visual as well but as always, please ask any questions you may have and save this to Pinterest so you have it when you are ready to make one of your own!
With Love,
Lisa
